Dead Channels
PR campaign to introduce San Francisco’s latest niche film festival.
In order to hype film-festival debut, a mini-festival of B-Movies in the grindhouse double and triple feature style were shown for one month under the SLEAZY SUNDAYS banner. Goal of garnering exposure and build community following of local hipsters and indie film fans was surpassed with sold-out shows. Key elements included determining relevant and obscure movie titles, projected on film with giveaways by neighborhood businesses. As an unknown entity, it was vital that each press release be catchy and original for critics, filmmakers and the dwindling local film going demographic. The response was phenomenal, extensive digital and print placement proved to be a testament to clear and clever word work.
